The End
I wavered the last week. As the date of the cable cut-off approached I rationalized that I ought to take as much in as possible before the supply of TV dried up. It wasn't that gratifying, in retrospect.
A few nights ago I was watching something trashy and suddenly the picture scrambled. The moment had arrived and I was down to 3 channels. I felt prepared and it hasn't been difficult at all, yet.

Good job Jake! I can't believe you had your cable turned completely off. I think my wife and kids would move out (or kick me out) if I tried that. I've been free of TV for 31 days now and have been documenting the experience over at my Break Free of TV blog. It's been quite a journey so far!
Jake, you're farther along than I am, both in dealing with your addiction and in cutting off your source. I haven't cut off my cable yet ... I can still turn on the tap anytime. :-/
So that last TV fling wasn't so great, huh? Leave ya feeling a little "hung over"? LOL
Way to go, with all of it -- cutting back, turning off the cable, and the anti-TV quotes you've posted. Thank you, those have helped me a lot. Keep it up; I'm here to support you. Strength to your sword arm!
I'm going on three weeks since I turned off my TV, and I'm also blogging about my experiences. Be glad to have you visit: TV Addicts Anonymous.
